⚡Quick answer
- Create a Zoho CRM ticket (Category: TDS) with the settlement’s Reference Number / Settlement Code.
- Attach the client’s email that clearly shows the TDS calculation and include the client’s TAN.
- After Accounts verifies the ticket, they create a matching TDS transaction, after which you may claim the amount and issue two invoices (one for the original settlement and one for the TDS amount).
When should I use this guide?
Use these steps whenever a client has already deducted TDS, and you need that deduction formally reflected in our books so you can claim it and invoice correctly.
Overview
To initiate a TDS transaction request, the agent must follow the process below.
Step-by-step process
- Raise a ticket in Zoho with complete details of the request.
- Provide all mandatory information listed below.
- Wait for the Accounts Team to verify; they will then create a TDS transaction equal to the deducted amount.
- Claim that amount and generate the required invoices.
Mandatory ticket details
- Reference Number / Settlement Code for the transaction
- Confirmation email from the client clearly showing the TDS calculation
- Client’s TAN number
Important note on proof
Only a valid email confirmation from the client will be accepted. Any other form of confirmation, such as handwritten calculations, images, or informal documents, will not be considered valid.
Post-verification outcome
Once the required details are verified, the Accounts team will create a TDS transaction equivalent to the amount deducted by the client as TDS. The agent can then claim this amount and generate an invoice accordingly.
Additional note: The agent must inform the client in advance that two invoices will be generated:
• One for the previously settled amount
• Another for the TDS amount deducted
