Yes. Heyo masks your calls with a virtual number, but the voice traffic still uses the talk-time or calling plan on the same physical SIM card in your phone. Without sufficient balance, outbound calls will fail even if your Heyo subscription is active.




Why Heyo needs talk-time

Heyo uses your phone’s native cellular network to place calls.

• A basic internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data) is required only to initiate the call for number masking.

• The actual call consumes minutes from your SIM’s active calling plan or talk-time balance.




Three requirements for a successful Heyo call

The registered SIM must be in the same phone where the Heyo app is installed.

Troubleshooting steps

  1. Verify cellular signal – Make sure your phone shows network bars.
  2. Restart the Heyo app – A quick restart can clear temporary glitches.
  3. Re-attempt the call after confirming the three requirements above. 



When will Heyo not work?

• The SIM’s talk-time balance is zero, or the calling plan has expired.

• The SIM card is removed from the device.

• No internet connectivity is available when you press “Call”.
