Do I need a calling plan and the Heyo application to make calls?

Yes. To place calls, you must (1) keep an active calling plan or talk-time balance on the physical SIM in your phone and (2) install the Heyo app, which uses a small amount of internet to start the call but hands the voice traffic to your SIM’s cellular network.




Why are both items required?

• Calling plan/balance: Heyo hands the actual voice call to your phone’s native cellular network; that consumes your SIM minutes.

• Heyo application: The app triggers call masking, recording and other business features, which need a brief internet handshake (Wi-Fi or mobile data).




Checklist: three things Heyo needs

  1. Active calling plan / talk-time on the same SIM that is registered with Heyo
  2. Heyo app installed on your Android or iOS device
  3. Basic internet (Wi-Fi or mobile data) to initiate the call



When will Heyo NOT work?

• SIM’s calling plan has expired, or the balance is zero.

• The registered SIM card is not inside the phone running Heyo.

• No internet connection is available when you press “Call.”• You are outside India (outgoing calls must start within India).

• Your Heyo account is suspended.




Troubleshooting steps

  1. Check your phone’s cellular signal strength.
  2. Confirm SIM balance via your carrier’s app or USSD code.
  3. Restart the Heyo app to clear temporary glitches.
  4. If all requirements are met and calls still fail, contact support (see below)
